Two Hearts Beating Amidst Winter by TheSwanDive Two Hearts Beating Amidst Winter by TheSwanDive
Winter in the mountain has something awe-inspiring and enchanting about it and yet, it could be so dangerous. It's quite easy to fall asleep in the quiet of the soft snow...

I love your description almost more than the photo, although they absolutely go hand in hand. I remember similar thoughts and scenes at the same time. The looming darkness, silence, and a sense of awareness (in senses) that is hard to describe. I actually really like this.

I am glad you find something likeable about it. I am honestly not a fan of too much cold (or at least not for long) - it numbs my senses after a few hours outdoors. What I like best is crispy cold weather, preferably with sunshine and clear blue sky. But I know that different people enjoy different types of weather. Some people even like hot humid days... that, I cannot comprehend! (: But I think I get what you mean.

Yeah, I agree with you, especially on the crisp cold with blue skies. Mind you, just because I can relate, doesn't mean I love this kind of weather. I like the photo because it's (in my opinion) not all that easy for something static to evoke such strong associations and memories, which this photo certainly does. I spent quite some time in the Austrian/Swiss mountains during winter, where this kind of weather is all too common.

I honestly prefer heat to coldness,- at least here in Queensland. I don't mind cold outside, I do strongly dislike cold inside, which is inevitable with houses that aren't insulated... So I guess I'm one of those people who'd prefer to sit through a hot and humid day than to be bundled up in three jumpers and a blanket in the middle of the day! :)

Yeah, like I said - different people, different perceptions :) I know people who are so warm-blooded that when it's 15°C, they finally feel at ease... without the three jumpers and a blanket. I don't claim to be one of them, but I guess I am somewhere in the middle. Too much heat slows my brain activity and I feel strange; and too much cold, especially indoors, doesn't feel pleasant either.

I guess it is not necessary to mention that I love silhouettes (:
Good capture!

It reminds me of this photo: [link]
